Democrats lost their bid to win control of the House of Representatives.  The Fox News Decision Desk can project that Republicans will keep their majority in the House of Representatives.  The number of seats the party will hold depends on the outcome in a handful of remaining districts.  There are nine races yet to be called. They are: Alaska’s at-large district, California’s 9th, 13th, 21st, and 45th districts, Iowa’s 1st district, Maine’s 2nd district, Ohio’s 9th district and Oregon’s 5th district.  Republicans soared to the 218 threshold for majority after Republican Juan Ciscomani was elected in Arizona’s 6th District. The first-term Republican won a rematch against Democrat Kirsten Engel, whom Ciscomani narrowly defeated in the 2022 midterms.  In a statement, The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) said that the majority win came after a "historically tumultuous cycle," saying that they "never lost focus and never stopped working."  "They said it couldn’t be done, but the American people have spoken. As Chairman of the NRCC it has been my mission since day one to hold our House majority. Today it is clear that we accomplished that mission. Even through a historically tumultuous cycle our team never lost focus and never stopped working," NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson said in a release on Wednesday night.  "Americans are fed up with extreme Democrats who threw open the border, set inflation on fire, and invited drugs and crime to flood our communities," he said. "With a Republican House majority, President Donald Trump back in the White House, and a new Senate majority, help is on the way. I am looking forward to working with my newly elected colleagues to clean up Democrats’ mess with an America First agenda."

There is a certain phrase that should now get your Spidey sense tingling.  This three-word message is one that scammers rely on and could make you high-risk to fall for a scam text: “Would you kindly.”  It may seem like a friendly or harmless phrase, but your guard should go up immediately. Even the single word “kindly” should read as a red flag. “The word ‘kindly’ is simply something we don’t use in our common vernacular in the US,” Tim Bajarin, a 40-year veteran technology analyst, told Readers Digest in an interview.  “You’ll often hear it used in countries with British influence, perhaps once a colonial country, where English isn’t their mother tongue [such as Nigeria, India and Pakistan].”

A new lawsuit accuses Subway of “grossly misleading” customers by advertising sandwiches that contain at least three times as much meat as it delivers.  According to a proposed class action filed on Monday in federal court in Brooklyn, Subway ads for its Steak & Cheese sandwich show meat bursting from within, reaching about as high as the surrounding hero bread.
TOPIC 2- THE ARREST OF A 16-YEAR-OLD, CHARGED WITH KILLING A 14-YEAR-OLD CLASSMATE IN BALTIMORE WITH HIS FATHER’S GUN, RAISES THE QUESTION ONCE AGAIN OF PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY.

TOPIC 3- JUDGE TO RULE WHETHER TO THROW OUT TRUMP’S CRIMINAL HUSH MONEY CONVICTION
A New York judge will decide Tuesday whether to throw out Donald Trump’s conviction in his criminal hush money case based on the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity earlier this year.  The President-elect faces up to four years in prison after he was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to cover off payments to porn star Stormy Daniels before Trump was elected president in 2016.  The US Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in July that former president Trump enjoys absolute immunity from prosecution for “official acts” during his presidency. The nation’s top court left it up to lower courts to sort out what constitutes an “official act” by a sitting president.
