Monday Jan 20, 2025
President-elect Donald Trump will soon take the oath of office for the second time, returning to the White House and becoming just the second president to serve non-consecutive terms after Grover Cleveland. With the nation's 60th presidential inauguration just a few days away, here's what to know about Inauguration Day 2025. Donald Trump's presidential inauguration is scheduled to begin at noon ET. Typically, presidential inaugurations, which are planned by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, begin with a procession to the Capitol building, where the incoming president and vice president are accompanied by the heads of the outgoing administration for the swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony is followed by the new president's inaugural address, as well as a signing ceremony, where the president takes their first official actions as the country's leader. The afternoon concludes with a luncheon, a Pass in Review — where the president and vice president review military troops — and a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue. Dan is Political Expert and five time elected official known for embracing the leadership styles of both Ronald Reagan and JFK

Here's the story:
My 5 year old son was assaulted by our neighbor in December, being that my son is under 10 and sustained injuries it was suppose to be a felony charge. When we reported the assault, my dad who is a retired police officer, recognized the name of our neighbor as a man he tazed in 2021 when he responded to a domestic violence call that Kamon (the neighbor) had was pouring gasoline around the house and attempting to light it on fire with his wife and children trapped inside, when my dad pulled up to the scene Kamon charged at him with an axe and was tazed. The DA’s office no-filed on this case and dropped the charges as well as his other several domestic violence charges. I was informed by the prosecutor yesterday regarding the case involving my son that since Kamon has a ‘no criminal history’ his charges were reduced to a misdemeanor for being a ‘first time offender”, and the state is offering him probation and anger management classes, which upon completion will qualify him to have his case expunged and clear his record again. The reason they’re claiming he has no criminal history despite an extensive arrest record for violent crimes, is because the DA drops his charges and no-files every time he is arrested. The prosecutor also told me that he won’t take the case to trial because the defendant, Kamon, said that my son said the ‘f word’ and that if a jury heard that they would likely side with the defendant anyway, I wanted to push for a jury and was told that I have no say in that, the prosecutor gets the final say, and that he’s already made up his mind.

For many years, community college supporters have worked to dispel the perception that their education is somehow substandard to four-year colleges and universities or a last resort for those without other options. This perspective disregards the tremendous value community college offers to people from all backgrounds and points in life, whatever their goals may be. The good news is that the tide is turning. Increasingly, students and families see community colleges as stepping stones to earning a four-year degree and accelerated pathways to employment. North Carolina Community College System officials reported a 5% statewide increase in full-time student enrollment in fall 2023. This also includes a 10% increase in workforce continuing education, 9% in basic skills, and 4% in curriculum across all 58 community colleges. During the fall 2024 semester, WCC also experienced a 15% increase in enrollment — the highest in more than 10 years. OFF has one overriding principle, the belief that citizens of Oregon and the United States have the right to own and carry the firearm of their choice for any reason other than to commit a crime.
To that end we have worked to ensure that the rights of gun owners are not compromised by elected officials, anti-gun activists or those who masquerade as gun-rights supporters while they work behind the scenes to erode your liberties.
We oppose any attempt to chip away at your God given, Constitutionally guaranteed right to defend yourself and your family.
It is our sincere belief that ANY compromise on these rights will only lead to more attacks on liberty in the future. We believe in personal accountability and responsible gun ownership and we believe those goals are achieved by individuals, not by bureaucratic mandates.
Furthermore we believe that change is effected by grassroots activists and the pressure they can put on elected officials, not by back room deals cut by lobbyists who have no real interest in the issue, only their next paycheck.
As a result of our positions we have angered many politicians who would like people to believe that they support gun rights even when they vote against them, but we are far more concerned with votes than popularity.

VAGUS NERVE STIMULATION MAY RELIEVE TREATMENT-RESISTANT DEPRESSION, STUDY FINDS
The US Food and Drug Administration had just approved VNS in 2005 for the long-term adjunctive treatment of chronic or recurrent depression in adults who had had inadequate responses to at least four antidepressant treatments. The vagus nerve “has over 100,000 individual nerves in a bundle,” said neuroscientist Dr. Bashar Badran, associate professor of psychiatry and director of the Neuro-X Lab at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. “This bundle projects from your brain to every organ in your body, like your heart, your lungs, your spleen, your kidneys, your intestines. DOJ RELEASES FORMER SPECIAL COUNSEL JACK SMITH'S REPORT ON INVESTIGATION INTO TRUMP ELECTION INTERFERENCE CASE
In the report, Smith said his office fully stands behind the decision to charge Trump criminally. The Justice Department made public Volume One of former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s final report on his now-closed investigations into President-elect Donald Trump, days before he is set to be sworn into office. Attorney General Merrick Garland released the first volume, which focuses on the election case against Trump, of Smith’s report on Tuesday at midnight after back-and-forth in the federal court system. The report was released at midnight because that was when the original hold on Volume One expired. An opening letter from Smith, who resigned last week, to Garland said that it is "laughable" that Trump believes the Biden administration, or other political actors, influenced or directed his decisions as a prosecutor, stating that he was guided by the Principles of Federal Prosecution.
