Former Biden Chief of Staff Ron Klain revealed to House investigators that he was approached by Hillary Clinton on concerns about Biden’s “political viability” in both 2023 and 2024 during a lengthy voluntary meeting with the House Oversight Committee on Thursday. Committee Chair James Comer continues investigating whether Biden aides worked to conceal signs of his cognitive decline leading up to the 2024 election. Fox Digital learned from a source familiar with the interview that Klain stood by the former Commander-in-Chief, stating that he believed Biden was not too old to run and was mentally sharp enough to serve the Nation’s highest political office. According to Klain, former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan expressed concerns prior to the debate that Biden “was less effective in 2024 compared to 2022,” although it was not made clear if the statements from both Clinton and Sullivan were related to Biden’s mental acuity. A representative for Sullivan denied that any conversations about Biden’s second run for president took place prior to the debate in a statement to Fox News Digital. Klain also acknowledged during the meeting that President Biden “often confused names and proper nouns” stating that the issue “got worse over time”. Klain is the sixth former Biden administration employee to appear as part of the probe. Former longtime aide Ashley Williams and ex-staff secretary Neera Tanden appeared voluntarily to answer question related to the probe. Three other former aids, Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal and former White House doctor Kevi O’Connor all came under subpoena, pleading the fifth to avoid questioning. Questions about the former President’s health, including both his physical and mental capabilities in the second half of his term, and during his re-election bid have come under increased scrutiny following the May announcement of highly aggressive prostate cancer coupled with multiple instances of losing his train of thought and incoherent discussions throughout the final two years of his presidency – which were addressed in Jake Tapper’s book Original Sin.Politics & Leadership Expert, DAN SNELL
