IS DRINKING ALCOHOL BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH? NEW DIETARY GUIDELINES WILL WEIGH RISKS AND BENEFITS
Most adults in the United States drink alcohol, but there is steadily growing public concern about the health effects of moderate drinking. The latest science supports those concerns, but two recent government reports suggest potential benefits exist alongside potential risks – and some experts say that formal dietary recommendations, due to be reviewed this year, could take a more nuanced approach. The current Dietary Guidelines for Americans, from the US Department of Health and Human Services and US Department of Agriculture, say that men should limit their daily alcohol intake to two drinks or less, and one drink or less for women. These guidelines are up for review this year, and two recent reports meant to inform that process came to seemingly competing conclusions – continuing a longstanding debate on how to weigh the potential risks and benefits of alcohol. There is a known link between alcohol and cancer, and any amount of drinking raises that risk. For Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy, this “direct link” was sufficient to issue an advisory and call for an updated health warning label on alcoholic beverages to highlight it. This sweet beautiful girl is Zahara. She was on the last call list at the shelter because she was so scared and overwhelmed by the shelter environment. We took a chance on her and she is blossoming. Zahara is about a year and a half old and 40'ish pounds. She looks very much like a German Shepherd, but we arent sure what her mix is. Zahara can still be easily intimidated by new things, but she will look to her human for reassurance. She can be shy and a bit nervous at first, but given a bit of time and patience she will warm up. Zahara does well with other dogs of all sizes and is learning house manners and basics. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and has been doing great with potty training. Zahara would love a patient family that will continue to help build her confidence. She does fairly well on leash and daily walks and play time in the yard would be ideal. Zahara loves attention and we are working on convincing her that she is not a lap dog!! If your looking for your new best friend, Zar would love to apply for the job!!

TRUMP FLOATS GUTTING THE IRS, MOVING AGENTS TO THE BORDER ARMED WITH GUNS
'How about just no tax,' Trump asked the cheering Las Vegas crowd. President Donald Trump floated moving nearly 90,000 IRS agents hired under the Biden administration to the border to patrol the area while armed with guns. "On day one, I immediately halted the hiring of any new IRS agents. They hired, or tried to hire, 88,000 new workers to go after you. And we're in the process of developing a plan to either terminate all of them or maybe we'll move them to the border. And I think we're going to move them to the border," Trump said during a rally at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday evening. "Where they're allowed to carry guns, you know, they're so strong on guns, but these people are allowed to carry guns, so we'll probably move them to the border," he continued. Certain special IRS agents are permitted to carry firearms as part of their duties, according to IRS Code, 26 U.S. Code § 7608.
