Kristen Roberts - AI Voices

Open AI CEO Sam Altman has weighed into the AI controversy over what sounds like the voice of actress Scarlett Johansson. Altman says the voice was not meant to sound like the popular actress and mostly sidestepped questions about the 'Sky' chat bot that many users say sounds just like the actress. The controversy began after OpenAI released a voice function for ChatGPT, with one of the voices sounding similar to Johansson. OpenAI has since pulled the voice. “This is the new frontier of trademark law,” says longtime Intellectual Property Attorney Kristen Roberts. “Artificial Intelligence will open a new door to this kind of intellectual property infringement and as attorneys specializing in this we need to help in setting the ground rules before AI does it for us.” The issue comes as the conflict between generative AI and the entertainment industry continues to simmer, with voice actors filing lawsuits, and the giant entertainment union SAG-AFTRA looks to lobby for bills protecting voice rights. Kristen is an intellectual property attorney who deals regularly in the specialized fields of trademark and copyright registration, licensing, enforcement and litigation. She has also worked as an adjunct law professor, teaching various intellectual property courses, and is heavily involved in giving back to her community. Her many cases have involved transactions with companies like Walmart, Target, Lululemon, Chipotle, and more

YouTube has been making some changes as of late to make its content more accessible for all ages. But in doing so, it’s creating a level of censorship that’s hard to ignore. The popular website’s owner, Google, revealed a change in policy taking effect on June 18th. With it, “certain content” surrounding the removal of safety devices will be entirely removed, while showing the use of homemade firearms, automatic firearms and certain firearm accessories will be age restrictive. The Gun Owners of America (GOA) recently made a statement on the matter. “Restricting access to adults only—for content that depicts wholly legal and constitutionally-protected activity—is wrong, and it aims to push a sinister narrative to minors that firearms are evil,” said Erich Pratt, GOA’s Senior Vice President. “In turn, as younger generations come of age, they will not question or push back on further violations of our Second Amendment rights.” “Alvin Bragg and his anti-gun friends have been aggressively pressuring YouTube to censor and directly prohibit certain content related to guns for years now, and sadly they just succeeded and free speech has once again become the victim,” said Aidan Johnston, GOA’s Director of Federal Affairs. “Congress must demand answers from YouTube on how influential DA Bragg and gun control groups were in facilitating this change in policy and determine whether the Biden Administration or it’s White House Office of Gun Control was weaponized to force the censorship of Second Amendment content.” Edwin is a Houston-based attorney with Walker & Taylor, a full-service criminal and civil defense firm that focuses on gun law cases. He's become a voice on Second Amendment issues in newsrooms from coast to coast. The firm has a very popular YouTube channel called Armed Attorneys that routinely gets 10s of thousands of views per video

Ways that Insurance Companies screw over homeowners when trying to make a claim.
1.They Try to Delay Your Claim
2.Deliberately Confusing Contract
3.Suggesting You Don't Need an Attorney
4.Credit Score Discrimination
5.Canceling Policy for a Phone Call
6.Quick and Unreasonable Offers
Following damaging storms, the weeks and months ahead will prove critical for the people impacted.
Meeting Immediate Needs
Facing significant damage, consumers may need help covering the basics like temporary housing, food and clothing.
“Check to see if you have something in your insurance policy called additional living expense coverage, or ALE, that can cover your expenses if you need to get a hotel or a motel so you have a roof over your head,” explained Ware Wendell of Texas Watch.
ALE coverage is typically included in standard homeowners and renters insurance policies. Read the policy to confirm coverage and coverage limits. If you don’t have a copy of your current policy or can’t access it, you can request it from your insurance company or agent.
Save receipts for out-of-pocket expenses related to your insurance claim – including hotel rooms and meals.
You can read recent NBC DFW reporting on how to contact nonprofits and disaster groups for help here.
What to save and what to document
If you can make emergency repairs to prevent further damage to your home, save receipts and proof of payment.
Take videos and photos that show what happened. Preserve evidence of damage. The insurance company may want to inspect it.
“Save the damage because that damage is evidence. You want to make sure that's thereon the property so that your insurance adjuster can see it,” explained Wendell.“Don't throw anything out until your insurance adjuster has seen it. Make sure that you document it with photos and videos as much as humanly possible.”
Save your communication with the insurance company. If you’re speaking with an agent or customer service representative by phone, get an email address. After each phone call, send an email highlighting what you discussed to create a written record.
