Monique is running for Congress in OR-04 because she knows we need a fighter in Washington who will roll up her sleeves and deliver results for Oregonians. Career politicians are all talk with no results while the problems facing Oregon continue to grow. Monique is running for Congress to deliver policies that reduce crime, tackle the homeless crisis, stop the flow of deadly drugs into Oregon from our southern border, and bring back a prosperous economy.
As an Air Force Veteran, attorney, and advocate for government transparency and reform, Monique has a consistent record of service and integrity. Her service to her local community has been shaped by experiences outside of politics, pursuing a career as a military lawyer in the Air Force, as corporate general counsel in the private sector, and as an advocate for businesses and crime victims - all while raising her twin boys as a single mom in Eugene, Oregon.
Following her retirement from the military in 2019, Monique joined the Kevin Mannix Law Firm and pursued legal causes fighting for the rights of crime victims, business owners, and other Oregonians. In 2022, she joined the non-profit Common Sense for Oregon, where she worked to formulate policies that would better serve Oregonians and improve public policies to address rampant homelessness, addiction, and crime in Oregon communities.

The Federal Trade Commission and the Food and Drug Administration are calling out five edible cannabis sellers who are using packaging that mimics foods popular with children. The companies were ordered to immediately stop marketing edible Delta-8 THC products that imitate foods with advertising or packaging likely to appeal to young children. The action is part of the FTC’s ongoing monitoring of health-related advertising claims. The FTC shared some examples to show how easy it is for a child to mistake cannabis edibles for a kid-friendly snack and accidentally ingest THC in very high doses. Edible cannabis — like cereal, gummies, cookies, candies, and chips — have cannabis that’s derived from marijuana or hemp. Some of these foods have Delta-8 THC, which is a part of cannabis that causes psychoactive and intoxicating effects. After accidentally eating edibles with THC, many children have gotten sick and even been hospitalized. J-Man is an outspoken advocate for the marijuana industry and the host of a TV show and podcast called Weed & Whiskey
