Pet of the Week - Lucky Paws

This sweet beautiful girl is Zahara.  She was on the last call list at the shelter because she was so scared and overwhelmed by the shelter environment.  We took a chance on her and she is blossoming.  Zahara is about a year and a half old and 40'ish pounds.  She looks very much like a German Shepherd, but we arent sure what her mix is.   Zahara can still be easily intimidated by new things, but she will look to her human for reassurance.  She can be shy and a bit nervous at first, but given a bit of time and patience she will warm up.  Zahara does well with other dogs of all sizes and is learning house manners and basics.  She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and has been doing great with potty training.   Zahara would love a patient family that will continue to help build her confidence.  She does fairly well on leash and daily walks and play time in the yard would be ideal.  Zahara loves attention and we are working on convincing her that she is not a lap dog!!  If your looking for your new best friend, Zar would love to apply for the job!!
