Acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns has won several Emmy awards and scored two Academy Award nominations. His landmark series include ‘The Civil War’, ‘Baseball’, ‘Jazz’,‘The Vietnam War’, ‘The Statue of Liberty’, and ‘Muhammad Ali’. Fresh off last year’s gripping series “The American Buffalo” comes Ken’s new two-part,four-hour film exploring the life and work of 15th century polymath Leonardo daVinci. Set against the rich and dynamic backdrop of Renaissance Italy, at a time of skepticism and freethinking, regional war and religious upheaval, the docu series brings the artist’s towering achievements to life through his prolific personal notebooks, primary and secondary accounts of his life, and on-camera interviews with modern scholars, artists, engineers, inventors, and admirers.
